We're guessing you've seen Bjorn Leines conquer everything from the gnarliest cirques in Alaska to stupefying backcountry gaps in Utah over the last decade of his legendary career. Designed for his rowdy riding style, the Rome National Bjorn Snowboard dials in the responsiveness and poppy precision he requires for charging big-mountain lines with obscene exposure and high-consequence cliff drops. It's the brainchild of both Bjorn and Rome's co-founder Paul Maravetz, combining Bjorn's intimate riding knowledge with the extensive design experience of Paul. It's based off the standard National, which was a limited release in Rome's line-up last season. As such, you'll find it's a centered twin for taking your freestyle tricks to virtually any feature you can step to, from burlier cliff lines to the biggest park jumps. Rome's Fusion Camber is entirely camber throughout its effective edge for locked-in carves and snappy response, with just a touch of rocker before the contacts to help it plane over chop and variable conditions without catch. The responsive flex pattern comes courtesy of Rome's 45/90 Hybrid Laminate, which amplifies rider energy into swift carves at high speeds and explodes off the lip of jumps with greater power than what you'd find with a mellower biax laminate. Not content with merely using a responsive fiberglass lay-up, Rome accentuates the pop and overall snap of the National Bjorn Snowboard with their Carbon TurboRods. These snappy carbon rods run in a Reverse Radial V from the insert packs towards the tip and tail for explosive pop without adding much in the way of torsional stiffness.
